Tracy Bartczak was born in Burlington, Ontario in 1970. Having grown up both next to the Great Lakes and in close proximity to Algonquin Park her love of the outdoors grew tremendously. Throughout her life, Tracy has always been fascinated by images and how the world is represented through the eyes of others. Naturally, she was drawn to photography and painting. The interest was cultivated during her mid thirties and further developed when she opted to take her Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design.
After completing her degree, Tracy delved even more into her photographic and artistic practice. The images that Tracy takes on her walks in the landscape are only part of the narrative. She uses the practice of Photography to be her guide during the long winter months as she then pursues the artistic narrative she so loves. It is collaboration between the artist and the land. Tracy cherishes this connection with nature. She feels that the artistic exchange between the land and the artist opens up many opportunities.
Tracy lives and works in Southeastern New Brunswick Canada, surrounded by the sea with the World’s highest tides, two large Provincial Parks and Hopewell Rocks. The Maritime Provinces hold so many opportunities with a wealth of raw talent.
